Biography
Originally from Brownwood, Texas, and raised all of his life on country music, Bobby Chitwood knows what real country is all about. Bobby has been raised on Merle Haggard, Hank Sr., Willie Nelson and many other traditional style artists, but Bobby has also idolized the styles of many southern rock bands such as Skynyrd and others of the like. Combine these two, and that will give you Bobby's traditional yet edgy sound.
Song writing has been in the family, and stems mostly from his grandfather, Emmett Royce Larkin. Bobby's grandfather was a respected Christian singer/songwriter who also dabbled in country. Bobby Chitwood has been writing since he was 12 and has continued to grow as a songwriter, singer and performer.
Bobby has been in the country and Texas music scene since he was a teenager, and continues with it almost a decade later. His talent has earned him the respect of major artists and concert promoters. Bobby Chitwood has played shows with Robert Earl Keen, David Alan Coe, Perfect Stranger, Joe Diffie, Diamond Rio, Tracy Lawrence, headlined at Texas Motor Speedway, and was invited to open for Toby Keith. Bobby Chitwood has toured all of Texas and much of the Midwest from Texas to Montana and in between. Currently Bobby tours with arguably the top musicians in the nation. The Band that backs Bobby have played with some of the top artists in the nation.
Bobby Chitwood enjoyed the nationwide release of his first single "My Name's Ronnie" with praise from Music Row Magazine, and charting in New Music Weekly. Bobby's sophomore single "Women Ain't So Hard to Understand" hit radio in April of 2006, and achieved #48 in the New Music Weekly main country chart, and also received great reviews from Music Row Magazine. In February of 2007 Bobby's own "Live For the Moment" hit radio, and made the top 50 on national charts. Bobby will most likely be in your town soon, and it is always one hell of a show.
